It’s easy to get all emotional and forget hard core facts when making any purchase, that’s nothing I would recommend you to do when buying your PDA. What you should do is go look for reviews, written by someone that doesn’t endorse every single model for his/her own profit.

We like to have brand new things of course, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but we seem to forget the intended use and let affection take over a little to much from time to time.

Even though there are brand new models released from manufacturers all the time, with more and more features all the time. We should really ask ourselves if this is something we going to use do we really want to pay for them.

Remember this; manufacturers are releasing model after model all the time, even if you feel you want the latest sleek gadget to show off with your friends, it will be old in a few months and you have small chances of running the manufacturers speed in the tech race all the time. That’s why an older bestseller might just be better.

Integrating functionality from before standalone devices is great, but it often degrades usability as the size of the device decreases.

Matching the device to purpose is important, let’s say you are going to use your mainly as a Walkman, the importance of the audio quality is much of more importance than the screen and you might be ok to have a screen that is a bit worse if you get good audio.

One area of usage often involves taking notes, this make the size aspect very important. If the device is to small you really can’t expect the screen to be large. You’ll want to look at things like screen size and the quality of inking functionality when you are going to use the PDA for taking notes. HP iPAQ 211 is a standalone PDA with excellent qualities for this purpose, read the review below.

There is something lurking on most mobile phones you may not be aware of; a convenient and easy to use little tool.

It is probably no surprise that Bluetooth phones are capable of sharing voice communications with a compatible Bluetooth headset.

Other accessories available for mobile phones with Bluetooth technology include hands-free headsets, car and motorcycle kits and speakers and speaker phones. The range of use of your accessories depends on the level of Bluetooth technology that your phone employs. It will most likely use either version 1.1 or 1.2 and have a 30 foot range of use between accessories and the Bluetooth cell phone. Version 2.0 can reach a range of up to 300 feet in some cases. Check your particular model to see what version you have to get a better idea of what range you can expect.

Several options exist for Bluetooth cell phone car kits from your local consumer electronics store that plug directly into your car and are accessible wirelessly through a headset or speaker phone. Push button or voice options exist for calling and music selections in many of these devices, and your Bluetooth cell phone is functional as soon as you turn on your car or motorcycle. Many car makers are offering it as an option in their new cars.

With Bluetooth phones, you can employ built in technology to not only transfer data and voice communications, but also receive hands-free wireless services and the ability to sync your device with your laptop for internet capabilities. With all the flexibility and convenience Bluetooth has to offer, you can work and play practically anywhere. Who knew that a low power radio signal could keep you so completely connected?

However, with the same cell phones service, you may also be capable of establishing a connection to the internet. By using Bluetooth technology, your phone can connect to your laptop. You can then use your laptop to surf the web or send and receive email. It’s as simple as syncing the two devices.

Basically an ultra low power radio signal, Bluetooth phones allow wireless access to other consumer electronics devices within a range of about 30 feet. Though it may sound a bit complicated, it really is not. For those who frequently rely on handheld electronic devices such as phones, cameras and PDAs the absolute ease of use and flexibility make Bluetooth a technology you may soon grow to rely on.

Have you ever found yourself at odds because you forgot an appointment or were out and about town and needed to send an email? Do not feel alone because many people find themselves in this situation. They need a device to carry with them that is portable, has the functions of a computer and will allow them to keep up with current events. Sometimes a phone just does not cut it. Why not try a handheld computer to help you out?

The pocket PC has come a long way since its humble beginnings. This device started out as a calculator sized computer that had very limited and basic functions. Later models added the ability to see one line of text. Today’s models are much more advanced. You can keep track of important appointments, browse the internet, organize your files and even play games and listen to music.

The pocket PC is also known as a Personal Digital Assistant, or PDA. The previous versions ran on Windows Mobile 5, but have since upgraded to Windows Mobile 6. Windows Mobile 5 was a great relief to PDA owners mainly beacuse of battery issues.

Today’s models are much more advanced. You can keep track of important appointments, browse the internet, organize your files and even play games and listen to music. The current version of the pocket PC operating system is windows mobile 6 but the real breakthrough came with window mobile 5 and was a great relief to handheld computer owners. The pocket PC is by a more general term also referred to as a PDA or Personal Digital Assistant

Some of the abilities of handheld computers are Personal Information Management (PIM), Word processing, GPS navigation, multimedia presentation and many more. Pretty impressive for a little gadget like the PDA.

The conventional pocket PC is already getting obsolete and the new up comer, Windows mobile Smartphone is getting the mainstream’s attention. This is the new favorite by both companies and civilian gadget users. It’s basically a phone with PC Software and can be used just like a regular PC but in a very portable way of course.

Here are some of the best known brands on the market, PalmOs, Blackberry and Hewlett Packard models all are good Smartphones. The new lines of models have the latest PC software, along with the speed and processing ability that you need to schedule your appointments, send and receive emails, text message and make calls. If you find yourself constantly traveling or moving around, then a pocket PC is exactly what you need.

Mobile technologies are more than just dual-action processors that help your computer run faster and more efficiently.

by Michael Erikson

Mobile technologies are more than just dual-action processors that help your computer run faster and more efficiently.

One piece of mobile technology that you need to check out is the HP iPAQ Pocket PC HX4700. This is the top of the line model, as far as mobile technologies go, and has received fantastic reviews from both users and the editorial staff of CNET. You can find these reviews at www.cnet.com and take a look at the 7.9 and 7.3 reviews. The website gives insight to new gadgets so you can compare, side to side, with other hand held devices.

The reviews come from its outstanding performance and speed. The HX4700 is operating on Windows Mobile 2003 2nd Edition and has the capabilities of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, along with a 624 MHz XScale processor from Hewlett Packard. The four inch screen is unbelievable with its color pixels and it features a replaceable battery to ensure that documents and other information are not lost when the battery dies. It also features a large quantity of memory and is equipped with Outlook, Word, Excel and Internet Explorer.

If there is a downside to the HX4700, then it’s all in size.

Granted, there are other manufacturers of mobile technologies that may come with a cheaper price tag, but only you can make that determination. One opponent in the mobile technology market is Apple’s iPhone. Users of the iPhone are hard pressed to find many drawbacks to this product other than the price, which is a whopping $399. Before you make any purchase, first determine your needs and take a look at the individual specifications of each hand held.

Sometimes, there are terms that can apply to different applications. Take for example mobile technologies. In one instance it is referring to a dual-action processor found in many desktop computers and laptops. In this example, it refers to the use of mobile technology, such as PDAs, pocket PCs and Smartphones. The use of these technologies is increasing every day as more people crave the latest gadgets on the market.

It is a bit bulky, but is still a very sleek pocket PC. There is a small handicap present when the user first operates the new touchpad and this can translate into poor gaming, for those that use their pocket PC for gaming in particular. If you are in the market for a pocket PC for gaming purposes, then you may want to turn to Dell’s Axim.
