An orthopedic mattress, or alternatively a memory foam mattress offers a number of benefits to the person that chooses to sleep on it. We shall explore that shortly; but let us first of all explore what a memory foam mattress is.

An orthopedic mattress / memory foam mattress is highly beneficial to people that sleep on it. We shall explore that shortly; but let us first of all find out what a memory foam mattress is.

A memory foam mattress like the name suggests is a mattress made from memory foam. The origin of memory foam fabric is attributed to NASA. As opposed to a traditional spring coil mattress, a memory foam mattress offers superior support.

As such the orthopedic mattress is now well known to people that suffer from some kind of back pain or some form of muscular skeletal condition that requires support minus pressure. As memory foam is so comfortable, even people without any need for one of these types of mattresses, are buying them.

You can buy them in different densities and thicknesses. This a topic for another time.

So now let us look at the orthopedic mattress benefits.

Optimal support of your spine in its natural shape. Imagine a double S shape, well that is the shape of a human spine. A spring coil traditional mattress will fare well when new. Complications may develop after a few years of using a spring coil mattress as it starts losing its shape and ability to support. An orthopedic mattress is less likely to lose its form quickly and at the same time, provides comfort and support minus pressure.

They come with an enhanced guarantee. It is not uncommon to see a memory foam mattress backing up the quality of their mattress with a 10 to 20 year guarantee. See if you an find the same on a traditional mattress. You will be lucky to get more than five years guarantee. This helps back up the quality and lifespan of the mattress.

Sleep Better. Less pain means better quality of uninterrupted and comfortable sleep. A well rested body is much better than one that tosses and turns constantly while trying in vain to sleep. A comfortable sleep will leave you feeling much more refreshed in the morning.

Expense. While a memory foam mattress does cost more than a traditional mattress, this is reflected in quality and longevity. These mattresses are not necessarily that much more expensive than a traditional mattress anyway. It will quickly pay for itself because quality and lifespan will more than compensate for the cheapness of a traditional mattress.

Now you know the ways in which a traditional mattress can not offer the quality and longevity of a memory foam mattress, you can go and buy an orthopedic mattress or orthopedic bed.

If you use the internet on a regular basis then you should be aware of some of the harmful things out there that can harm your computer. There are many different harmful things like malware and spyware but for the purposes of this article were going to discuss viruses and how you should protect yourself against them. A virus is basically a malicious piece of software that has been created with the sole intention of harming a computer.

These programs are usually installed on your computer by simply pretending to be another program so that you will download and then install them. Once they are installed on your hard drive, they have full access to all of your file and usually will run in the background doing their “dirty” little tasks. This is one of the biggest reasons people’s computers slow down – these viruses will run in the background and eat up your computers resources without you even knowing about it.

The obvious answer to solving this problem would be to simply stop using the internet. But as we all know that is not possible, so the only other option would be to use anti-virus programs. This presents another set of problems – which ones are the good ones that will actually prevent my computer from being infected, not slow down my computer and not cost me a fortune? Well thankfully for you I have years of experience with multiple different anti-virus programs and I’ll recommend the top two one that I have used on my personal computers and recommend to other people.

The first is called AVG Anti-Virus (just do a Google search for it). There is a free version and a paid version. Don’t worry if you don’t have the money for the paid one, I have used the free one for a few years now and it works just fine. The paid version of this software just has a few more features on it. When you do decided to use AVG, you are going to need to tune it to make your computer faster. There are many ways to configure AVG to do this, but we are going to focus on just one in this article, preventing AVG from performing a scan as soon as you turn on your computer. This obviously means that you are going to have to manually tell it to perform scan when it is convenient for you. Just click on “Computer Scanner”, select “Manage Scheduled Scans”, select “Edit Scan Schedule” and uncheck the box that says “Enable this task”. Now just click on save.

The other piece of anti-virus software that I will recommend to you is called ESET Nod 32 Anti-Virus. Sadly there is only a paid version of this program but you do get a lot of protection, it is not annoying to use and you do not have to configure it at all. This is probably the best anti-virus that I have ever use and you should get it for yourself.

You’ve probably already heard of the Sciphone i68: it’s an extremely low cost dual sim smart phone manufactured by Sciphone in China. It’s had a lot of success in Europe during the last year: mostly accounted to its low price, full touch-screen interface and iPhone looks.

An important missing feature has been the phones lack of WiFi internet connectivity though.

With more and more restaurants, hotels, pubs and service stations offering free wireless hot-spots; mobile phone user’s are expecting WiFi internet connectivity as a standard feature.

Consumers looking to connect to WiFi hotspots on their i68 have so far been disappointed. The dual sim smart phone does not support wireless internet access and instead uses WAP.

All of this is set to change though.

This week a brand new model of the Sciphone i68 was made public by Digizo.co.uk, a UK based online retailer specialising in Sciphone products. Dubbed the i68 WiFi: this new version of the i68 features full wireless internet access features. Connecting to wireless hot-spots at home, work, in a hotel or anywhere with WiFi available this new model can browse the web, check email, send and receive instant messages and do thousands of other things using a high speed wireless internet connection. On top of this Sciphone have made many other major improvements to the i68 experience. The touch screen interface has been hugely upgraded: now offering more control and responding to the most subtle touch. The phones camera functionality has been augmented: featuring a second fully functional camera on the front for video conferencing and a flash on the back for improved lighting. And the audio playback has been enhanced with powerful stereo speakers on the bottom of the phone.

A Digizo representative commented “We are extremely excited to be the first to bring these new products to the UK. This new WiFi i68 is going to redefine what consumers expect a low cost phone to be able to do.”

The new model i68 WiFi is set to go on sale publicly on the 1st of May 2010.

Check out Digizo.co.uk’s website for more information and hi-resolution images of the i68 WiFi phone.

Many people want to decor their home theatre room in a good way but cables of speakers and different devices become an obstacle. Although it is not possible to cut on all the cables but at least some products are there to present the solution of this issue of disorganized cables cluttered in your house.

Many older houses are that had not been wired with rear speakers and also the homeowners who do not want the long cable wires cluttered prefer wireless speakers kit. Wireless speakers are marketed more than ever for such homeowners who wish to eliminate the long speaker cable running in the house. It is therefore necessary to determine if this is a logical solution and how reliable these wireless speakers kit would be in the house.

LG is one of those manufacturers who design and produce wireless surround sound speakers for homeowners. They can use this product to have minimum set of cables to avoid the disorganized look around the room. You can attach two speakers to receiver with this wireless kit. The cables are reduced however but not removed entirely to be called as ideal wireless equipment.

Amphony is another product that stands in the line of wireless surround sound speakers. It also does not eliminate the cables but reduce the cluttering of the cable. It is comparatively better in reducing cable clutter than other wireless surround sound products by other companies.

Cable clutter is avoidable if you use wireless surround sound speakers and the room looks more tidy and organized with help of these products. Wireless products usually do not give out good sound quality and it is necessary that you should know that wireless products drop on the quality of sound as compared to products with cables. You will have to switch to digital signal format from analog signal format to improve the audio quality. Digital format gives less care to distortion and noises so is able to produce high quality sound usually.

All the speakers and other devices attached to home theater should be synchronized with each other. Use the delay method to improve the signal quality such as Rocketfish who use 1ms delay for improving the sound quality.

The reliability of this wireless surround sound product is worth considering. Other wireless devices are also a cause of interference and degraded audio quality for these wireless products. Bluetooth devices and WiFi are more widespread and since these devices have 900 MHZ or 2.4 MHZ frequency they become a challenge in this context. In order to reduce the impact of interference you will need frequency such as 5.8 GHZ to work in noisy distorted situation.

In case if you want to do a rear speakers setup in another room it might present some other challenges. You can set them up in you backyard or wherever that suits your needs for your home theatres because they come with endless possibilities and you may find lot of applications to help you with to setup your home theatre.

Where you can find out more about consumer electronics like Autoradios and what it can do for you.

WiFi in Campervans is a cool thing to have and these days more folks expect it! WiFi is a wireless system that permits Computers with a WiFi adapter to hook up to a WiFi access point or router. Once the laptop is hitched up to the access point or router the portable can use the Net. WiFi is available in more places and now it is feasible to have WiFi in Campervans.

There are plenty of cafe and bars in urbanized areas that offer free WiFi access to all their clients. Many libraries offer free WiFi access also. There are one or two places where you can pay for WiFi access. There are an increasing number of locations offering free WiFi access. This makes carrying your own portable computer Personal computer an excellent choice.

Some refectories, bars and preprocessed food eateries offer free WiFi access with a purchase. Some campsites also offer free WiFi. An increasing number of libraries offer unlimited access.

It is actually possible to find many unsecured WiFi signals in urbanized areas. Secured signals won’t permit you to connect without the correct key. However an unsecured one will probably allow any one to attach. If you park in a city center or outside of a flat block then you’ll routinely be ready to receive many various signals. This is a typical way for folks to ‘rob’ WiFi in campervans, yes it’s technically illegal, but the possibilities of becoming caught are very tiny.

Staying connected while you are traveling is becoming easier each day. Not only are more businesses making WiFi available to their customers, but internet sites are popping up to let you know where you can connect and how. Now many campsites across the UK and Europe have WiFi. The locations have also expanded. It seems the coffee industry started a trend that everyone is jumping on board. Offer free internet connections to the customers and they will come.

Now you can enjoy dinner or a coffee ( or maybe get your oil replaced ) all while checking your e-mails or speaking away. The governing body has even jumped on board. Some town services ( library, chamber of commerce, town hall ) have free WiFi available to local residents and even just those who are passing by.

Although WiFi connections are catching on, there is a catch to using them. You must be a customer or authorized user. Most of the connections will ask you if you are authorized to use the service – and you better be if you are going to log on. One man, who had been parking outside a local coffee shop to access its WiFi, was arrested for theft.

If the WiFi is really free then you will not have to determine anything when you log on. The best course of action when you’re traveling is to do a fast search before you leave. You will be able to find some WiFi connections along the path. Hotels will very likely be wired, but that does not imply it is going to be free. Many of the places I have stayed at needed that you connect through a paid service and the connection was available however it was not free.

Mobiles with Wifi are fast becoming the way ahead for communication and our mobile telephones and if you don’t have Wifi on your telephone, it is time to start considering it! Lately, the life of mobile telephones as we all know it has changed totally, going from black and white telephones to colour LCD screens, monophonic to polyphonic ring tones, cameras to record calling and much, much more. At the end of 2007 it was claimed that over 70 million folks in the United Kingdom alone had a subscription to a mobile telephone network and with those things that were once thought to be luxuries now changing into a prerequisite, it is beneficial to have the most recent of its type.

We hope to find you the lowest prices ever on WiFi in Campervans, grab yours now while they last as availability is sometimes limited, at WiFi in Campervans Better still why not call us on 0800 612 8719, that is a free call from the UK.

With all the WiFi hacking going on these days and the widespread use of wireless systems, is it wise for Factories to run al their robotic equipment off WiFi systems? Sure encryption would prevent most problems, but materials and parts are expensive and one robotic mess up is a real problem. You have a complete assembly line shut down, because of some two-bit hacker.

Did you know that there are some WiFi security analysts, which purposely “war drive” to find holes in systems in corporations and then use this knowledge to go to the company and sell them Wireless Computer Security Services? Can you imagine if you did this type of sales technique you might find your self explaining what you are doing to the police when the company called them for fear you were a hacker rather than a IT Security Solutions Provider.

In a Robotic Manufacturing Plant it is of concern that such people are out there, even if semi-good intentions. It might be smart to scramble signals leaving the building and watch out for insiders with hand helds. Indeed, even with a WEP setup, you might find yourself in a problematic situation from a hacker or electronics guy who is getting laid off and losing their job in the factory to a robot and completely disgruntled. (see movie; iRobot, A.I. and read Issac Asimov).

Human nature, revenge is a powerful motivation of humans, watch out on that one, Unions can do some pretty criminally irresponsible things. A factory of this type could use a scrambler system between walls, and windows or double paned with air or music running thru them.

Still there are many pointer type units you can buy for direction sound attainment and you know the hackers have those too, if they do not make them just to test the range like they did recently at Defcon Hacker Convention in Las Vegas. This is something to think of too and a robotic factory electronic computer IT engineer must be thinking here. Are you? WiFi security is not a luxury it is a necessity, think on this.

With wireless networks proliferating it is becoming more important than ever that sufficient security measures are put in place. And yet many people, especially those new to the technology or computers in general, are just not aware of the dangers of not properly securing a wireless network.

Typically ‘normal’ users of products such as wireless routers dismiss any security concerns as only really being applicable to commercial concerns. After all, who would be interested in a small local set-up of two, maybe three computers? You may be surprised. There are many horror stories circulating about unsecured wireless networks, and unfortunately there is a grain of truth in most of them.

The most common form that a danger to a private network can take is known as variously as ‘War-driving’, ‘war-walking’, ‘war-flying’ or ‘war-chalking.’ This involves an unscrupulous person literally driving, walking or even flying around in an attempt to find an unsecured wireless network. Once one is found a nearby wall is commonly ‘chalked’, indicating to any other passer-by the presence of a ripe target. The name itself is taken from the act of ‘war-dialling’, a term coined by the film ‘WarGames’, where random telephone numbers were dialled in the hope of finding a computer on the other end of the line.

If a network is found, then the potential consequences can range from the fairly innocuous to the criminal. At the very lowest level a third-party can connect to the network and access the Internet connection from the router. If the legitimate owner of the network is on a capped service this can consume a considerable chunk of their bandwidth, leading to extra charges being levied for resources which they never realised were being used. Of far more consequence are some of the uses to which this stolen bandwidth could be put. In a worst case example a paedophile cruising around the area could spot the chalk marking and connect to the compromised network. Without the knowledge of the network owners they could connect to any manner of illegal sites, with no record of their passing traceable to them. Because the trail would stop cold at the door of the person who has provided them with the free access.

Of course this is a very worst-case example, and as such very unlikely. Even in today’s climate of moral decrepitude this sort of occurrence would, we hope, be extraordinarily rare. But hopefully it will help drive home the point that securing your network should be taken very seriously indeed. But what can you do to protect yourself?

I would recommend that all wireless networks should make use of the WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) encryption option which comes as standard with almost all routers and base stations. Although turned off by default this feature is absolutely essential. Utilising either 64-bit encryption, which creates a 64bit encryption based on a 40-bit key with a 24-bit initialisation vector, or 128-bit encryption which makes use of a 104-bit key with a 24-bit initialisation vector, a secure password is created. This password should only be given to known and trusted wireless devices, blocking access to any interloper. This, although not secure against dedicated crackers, provides a more than adequate protection to dissuade the nosy or the vast majority of war-drivers.

Too few people enable this basic protection, or are even aware it exists. However in some regards protecting your network can be as essential as your childhood inoculation against tetanus. So please, take just a few minutes of your time to configure your WEP encryption, and to help protect yourself.

Just about every leading mobile phone provider now offers some sort of prepaid calling plan in order to fit their customers' budgets. But is is right for you?

Just about every leading mobile phone provider now offers some sort of prepaid calling plan in order to fit their customers’ budgets. But is is right for you?

The first question you’ll need to ask yourself is how often you’ll use your wireless phone?

Since the biggest benefit of a prepaid wireless phone is there is no monthly contract, you’ll pay a little more for the prepaid minutes you purchase. But if you plan on using your phone strictly on an as-needed basis for emergencies, etc., a prepaid wireless program could be just what you’re looking for.

The biggest mistake most people make when choosing to go prepaid is not reading the “fine print” of the providers’ terms and conditions.

In most cases, the prepaid minutes you purchase will expire after a certain period of time, usually two or three months down the road. What this means is, if you buy 300 minutes today and fail to purchase more minutes anytime during the next few months, the unused portion of those 300 minutes will be unuseable!

This is sort of a convenient way to force you to keep on purchasing minutes even if you don’t actually need them.

Another thing to watch out for is a daily minimum. Many providers will charge you $1.00 for each day you use your wireless phone. So if you get a prepaid wireless phone with the intention of making one two-minute call every day of the month, in addition to using 60 minutes of airtime, some providers will also charge you an additional $30 for the month, since you used the phone all 30 days.

Not a very good deal.

Out of all the prepaid wireless deals out there, TracFone seems to have the most competitive prices and terms of service. Although TracFone minutes expire after three months unless you purchase additional minutes (just like all the other companies), they also have a one-year activation service which is perfect for people just needing a wireless phone for emergency purposes. The deal changes from month to month, but usually provides for one year of activation, without requiring you to purchase additional minutes for a whole year. Thus, your monthly cost should average about $8.00 and you’ll have a wireless phone with a few hundred minutes that will be good for the whole year.

The choices seem endless, but it pays to educate yourself about prepaid wireless phone plans.

A regular two story single family homes wireless installation usually only will require one wireless router placed centrally in the home. The newer trend that Schaumuburg Computer Repair faces is the new mega tear down homes that are all brick and have three floors with over 4,000 square feet. The question is how do I give the customer the best wireless coverage for the least price.

Standards Tutorial: 802.11b is old don’t use it. 802.11g runs at a reported 54mbps but actual throughput is 22 mbps, it has greater range than 802.11a. 802.11a is mostly used in areas where there are many wireless access points already such as business offices. Also 802.11a network can have more co-located wireless access points because 802.11a has 8 non-overlapping channels while 802.11g has only 3. 802.11n is only a draft version at this point so do not purchase draft n products. I do recommend purchasing 802.11g wireless access point with MIMO (Multi-in Multi out) technology. These access points are configured with two radios, which allow them to send and receive at the same time.

Phase one: Coverage Area – Defining coverage area for the home is very important because defining areas to blanket can effect the customers cost. We have many customers that do a lot of work in detached garages and basements but many people use wireless in only one room. So the rule of thumb is the more areas the need wireless coverage the higher the price for the customer.

Phase two: Site Survey – Perform a site survey to find out what other wireless networks are in the area. This is very important because in might impact whether you install a 802.11g wireless network or a 802.11a wireless network. If we perform a site survey and find many 802.11g wireless networks on varies channels it might be better to install a 802.11a wireless network which runs on a different frequency. Knowing what channels other networks are running on is very important because each one of your wireless access points will need to run on a different channel. 802.11g standards have only three non-overlapping channels, which are 1,6 and 11 while 802.11a has eight non-overlapping channels. The rule of thumb to follow is that 802.11g is subject to more interference but has greater range than 802.11a.

Phase threee: Distibution system – Now you need to decide how you’re going to distribute your wireless network throughout the home. A wireless access point acts a wireless wire so you will still find a method to get a network connection to that wireless access point. You have three options: running network cables throughout the house (The worst option), setting up power line Ethernet, or setting wireless repeaters or bridges. Running network cables is your last option because it requires drilling and time, which equals more cost. Power line Ethernet is great because it turns your power outlets into network cables. All you have two do is plug in one power line adapter by your internet connected wireless router and then plug in adapters throughout the house where you need wireless access points plugged in. Then your final option is to set up wireless repeaters to which will extend your original signal through out your house.

Phase four: Access point Placement – Your first access points should be in the most central parts of the home with supplemental wireless access points placed in hard to reach areas. Keep the wireless access points away from large metal objects and if the wireless access point can’t be placed in a central location use directional antennas to point the wireless signal internally instead of outside.

Phase five: Wireless access point Configuration – Your site survey will have revealed that 99% of the population purchases a wireless access point from best buy plugs it in and leaves all the defaults. So that means that their SSID is linksys and the wireless router / access point are on channel 6. Our larger home wireless network will need two to three wireless access points so we will configure our first two wireless access points on channels 1 and 11. If a third one is needed then you can use channel 6; just make sure user connections aren’t dropped after the wireless clients are configured. Next you will want to name your wireless network (SSID). Choose a obscure name like house, a color or some thing that can’t link the network with the family. The reason for that many people have their SSID as there last name and the there network key the same or a pet or child’s name. The more hacker knows about the family the easier it will be to hack the network

Phase 6: Security – You will want to use AES encryption with WPA2 handling for the majority of wireless networks. If your clients are going to be gaming over the wireless network you could consider using WEP 128 because on older wireless access points AES encryption is processor intensive. The myth is that wireless encryption can be hacked in five minutes which is true if you have enough network packets to crack. The whole process is collecting the packets then cracking those packets, the collection of those packets could take weeks if not months. Then after the packets are collected the encryption has to be cracked.
