Best DROID Travel Apps We Recommend (Part 2)
TripIt– You will always know what’s up with your flight status and other travel arrangements with this handy DROID application. You can view information on all of your trip itineraries whether you have computer access or not just by using your DROID. You can even link directly to other areas of interest directly from the itinerary such as restaurants, hotels, shopping, and more. If you need maps to these locations you can get that at the tap of the finger as well. Never be late, or not know you could be late, for a flight again with the TripIt DROID app.
WeatherBug Elite– This weather app for Android tries its best to deliver a slightly more personalized version of weather to its users. You can view local or national weather forecasts with animated radar capabilities that can offer additional layers of information on particular area weather patterns. You can also view different weather cameras time lapse footage to see how the weather over a period of time went. Obviously the WeatherBug Elite app for DROID lets you see the temperature and whether it’s going to rain or snow or whatever, but it gives you a few other options that many other weather apps just don’t.
Waze– Social media for traffic is what the Waze DROID app is. The Waze app allows you to look at and add personalized information to the traffic reports in your area. Things like where speed traps are, where road work is being done, slow traffic, or any other thing that can cause traffic problems can be viewed. No typing while your driving or you will be a statistic on this app, but when you can update a traffic spot for an area that no one alerted you to but you can save them from a hassle. That way they can use the built in map to plan around it. There is an even an option to upload photos you’ve taken of different traffic events and places.
Flight Stats– Stay informed of your flight information while travelling the easy way with the FlightStats DROID App. Get info on multiple different airports globally with website, contact information, and your itinerary given to you in real time. Just in case you may need it, there is even an option for direct access to departure and arrival gates and times so that you won’t have to worry about being late for a flight again…
Places Directory– The Android app Places Directory is exactly what it sounds like it is. A multiple categoried directory with choices like restaurants, bars, movie theaters, banks, atm’s and tons more. Google maps is used by the DROID Places Directory app to allow you to see the distance and directions, pictures, and ratings scales for the listed places. If you want to really know your area, or one you travel to, this app lets you, “read all about it”!
Celeste SE– This celestial app for Android is a visual tracking system for our solar system. You can interact with this DROID app by using your phone’s camera to point an area in the sky and then Celeste SE uses your phone’s GPS to then bring up an overlay of impressive 3D graphics of planets and relevant facts about the areas that you view.
