Nowadays, most computers are based on Windows software. For the most part, windows is easy to use and created so that any literate person with a mouse can use it. This is starkly different than 20 years ago, when personal computer used needed to input commands in order to type a paper.

The F keys located at the top of the keyboard use to be the basic commands for DOS based programs. They are whats known as function keys. In addition to these keys that have always been on the keyboard, Windows added its own key to the shortcuts. The Windows key is a useful key that like the function key works alone, or like the CTRL and Alt keys can be partnered with other keys. Pressing the Windows key will launch the Start menu, while simple combinations such as Windows+D will show the desktop.
Windows by design is already easy to use. When Shortcut keys are added to it, its also a lot quicker. Just like Windows, the shortcuts are simple to learn and memorize. Learning a few of them will help you get the most out of your windows software.
