The Advantages of Screensavers

Is it “screensavers” or “screen savers”? That is a debate that has happened for several years, and perhaps will continue to be a debate in the future. As it stands, there is no winning side on this issue.

However, lots of people are questioning as to what Screensavers or screen savers are. Generally, this is a type of picture that is moving in one way or another on the computer screen of a system that has been inactive for a certain period of time.

These were created so that whatever image that remained on the screen after a certain length of time would not result in a “burn in” on a component of a monitor called the “phosphor”. While the modern technology of today’s modern systems make this occurrence unlikely, screensavers or screen savers still remain quite popular.

In order for screensavers or screen savers to be considered ideal for a system, there are several characteristics that must be present. First, there must be various components that actually flow on the screen. Screensavers or screen savers must also have a background that is nearly dark in color. When the components move along the background of the screen, they are to move at a relatively slow acceleration. There are typically no melodies included as part of the screen saving program, but, there are many types that actually do have sound.

Last, but not least, for screensavers or screen savers to be ideal, they must be sensitive to movement on the user end so that the performance of the system is enhanced once the user is ready to work again.
