Typical Uses for Spy Software
Spy software is viewed as a type of malware or spyware. People’s computers becoming infected with spyware is a common issue with internet users these days. It is usually used as a tool to monitor a spouse or child’s behavior on the computer. Spyware could be used to capture information about a user’s computer activity. These programs can be installed without having physical access to the computer.
Spy software is entirely legal as long as you own the computer that you are installing it on. It is equally important that the people that are being watched have notification that they are being monitored. Typically the software is purchased and used in order to protect children from internet predators, allow partners to investigate infidelity and can promote employee productivity. Anti-virus programs may not be able to detect these programs.
Spy software can be installed deliberately or unintentionally from an email attachment or a virus. In many instances the software can be used as a type of computer monitoring program. If this software lands into the wrong hands, personal information such as credit card numbers, bank account information, user names and passwords may be compromised.
Computers make good surveillance tools because they can be programmed secretly to record and log information without the user’s consent or knowledge. In most cases computers are connected to a network, which could potentially be exploited by security cracking in order to get confidential information. Computer spy software is made to monitor and have some control over computers in a LAN setting and may display detailed information about the activity of all users in the network.
Spy software does not contain any icons, program groups or any other reference to the program. In today’s digital age, it is becoming more advanced. These types of applications have the ability to be installed remotely without the need to physically access the computer. It is completely legal to use the software as long as the computer you are installing it on belongs to you.
